New Generation Video Management System Mirasys Ltd., one of the leading suppliers of open platform Video Management and Visual Intelligence Solutions, launches a new generation video management system: Mirasys VMS V8. By reaching one of the highest parameters, the application LaseLCPS-3D-2D confirms its high development status and also the acceptance on the market. In regards to safety it is important to run systems which have a reliable protection against malfunctions. This specific version of the application LaseLCPS-3D-2D – Load Collision Prevention is a combined 3D/ 2D laser measurement system consisting of each one 2D and one 3D laser scanner mounted under the trolley. The LaseLCPS application software collects the scanned data, does all needed calculations and sends the results to the machine PLC. In order to measure all relevant stacks a 3D profile scan in gantry and trolley direction will be processed before the first move. The scan planes of the 2D and 3D laser scanner are projected orthogonally to each other. Additionally the laser scanners scan over the yard during movement in order to measure shadow areas, which have been covered by higher stacks in front before. Within this collision prevention check a dynamic surveillance cube around the load proves an overlap with the container profiles in the yard. In the event of an overlap, the system retard the movement by slowing down the crane travel and even finally stops the container move. On top of all this the system also has a soft-landing function for gentle container handling that leads to less spreader wear and a reduction of the operation noise.

OPTEX has extended its range of SmartLine active infrared beams with the SL-TNR series wireless and hybrid, entry-level outdoor active beam for simple point-to-point applications. The SL-TNR series includes two models: a 30-meter SL-100TNR, and 60m SL-200TNR outdoor battery-powered active beam that is ideally suited to protect small perimeters, open areas and driveways. The sensor has been designed to work with both D-sized lithium batteries as well as the universal CR123 batteries, when using optional battery-holders (CRH-5), which are all included in the SL-TNR-CH package. Four D-sized batteries fitted within the receiver and transmitter will provide up to five years’ operation; 16 universal batteries will last up to one year. The SL-TNR photobeam includes a hybrid option of a PCU-5 power converter, so the receiver can be hardwired and the transmitter battery-powered. It is ideal for situations when the receiver beam is on a building wall close to a main power source and the transmitter is too far from it. SL-TNR beam sensors also feature a back box that can accommodate most of the available wireless radio transmitters on the market, making it extremely easy to add a wireless perimeter alarm to an existing indoor wireless system. The optional use of a BCU-5 allows for the battery power to be shared between the beams and the wireless transmitter.
