Verint Enhanced VMS for Banking & Retail

Verint® Systems Inc. has recently launched a series of enhancements to its video security, fraud and compliance management solution. To meet evolving requirements, Verint’s latest EdgeVMS release provides banking and retail organizations with deep insights into security, fraud and compliance with advancements that include enhanced system reliability, HD-over-Coax functionality, expanded real-time visibility for operational readiness, elevated levels of intelligence and centralized fraud mitigation.

With the increasingly digital nature of business today, especially those found in the banking and retail sectors, come opportunities for greater customer engagement and greater risk of fraud and loss. Increasingly sophisticated criminal techniques require financial organizations to pursue new approaches to detect and prevent such occurrences. At the same time, customers are demanding solutions that incorporate Big Data, Deep Learning and the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve the collection of data across branches, office locations and remote sites such as standalone ATMs and retail stores.

“The banking and retail markets continue to evolve through the growing use of digital and mobile devices, with more and more branch operations aiming to enhance convenience and service for their customers. These advancements, however, create greater risk of loss,” says Matt Tengwall, Vice President and General Manager, Banking and Retail Solutions, Verint, “Verint EdgeVMS is designed to help our customers address these challenges head on by incorporating unique intelligence and fraud methodologies with the power to identify threats and perform comprehensive investigations.”

System reliability

Verint EdgeVMS helps reduce video data loss by increasing system resiliency. Onboard storage provided by an SD card helps ensure video data is protected at all times, even in the event of network downtime. When the IT backbone comes back online, the Verint solution automatically recovers the video from the SD card, enabling comprehensive network reliability.

HD-over-Coax

HD-over-Coax is a new analog high-definition (HD) video standard that transmits over coaxial cable. Verint now offers this technology via its EdgeVMS platform, enabling customers to implement an HD system using the same coax cables that an analog system runs on, lowering the total cost of ownership. HD-over-Coax installs just like analog cameras and provides up to 1080p HD for improved video quality.

Real-time visibility for operational readiness

Customers now have the option to extend real-time visibility for operational readiness within the EdgeVMS software. This feature takes monitoring beyond just the EdgeVR and IP cameras to the network switch and storage systems. By adding Verint’s integrated network switch, enhanced intelligence comes to life with a myriad of advanced reporting capabilities.

Centralized operations to enhance investigations

Centralized Data Services, a powerful feature now incorporated within EdgeVMS, allows customers to strengthen intelligence gathering, streamline investigations and centralize fraud mitigation. With this functionality, Verint is redefining the way clients capture transaction data by automatically associating video data with specific front-end activities. This means, customers can capture all transactions per location, ATM and teller window from an operations center and make decisions based on company-wide data. In addition, fraud investigators can search all sites for transaction and video data based on customized settings, including date, time and transaction number, account number, dollar amount, type of transaction, location, camera name, and terminal and employee ID.

Availability of mobile video App for Android devices

Verint Mobile Video helps transform smart devices into mobile video surveillance and response tools. Now available in iOS and Android versions, customers can gain access to live and recorded video from any mobile device. They also can stream video and share live images, enabling faster, more intelligent decision-making in routine patrols or emergency events.
