March Networks® New customization and search capabilities in Searchlight Business Intelligence Software

March Networks® has recently introduced new capabilities available in its powerful Searchlight software. Used by leading banks and retail organizations worldwide to extract valuable information on customer service, merchandising, operations, compliance and more, March Networks Searchlight™ helps businesses improve performance and profitability. Integrating clear surveillance video, relevant business data and highly accurate analytics, the software also enables organizations to proactively detect fraud and theft and quickly review suspect transactions – reducing investigation times by as much as 90%. With the launch of this latest version of Searchlight, customers benefit from enhanced filtering and customization features that make it easier to uncover losses and compare key performance indicators (KPIs) from multiple locations simultaneously. These new capabilities include: Expanded fraud/ loss detection reporting. Users can now combine specific transaction types with associated point-of-sale (POS) or ATM/ teller alarms to proactively pinpoint suspect incidents. A fraud investigator at a bank might set a business rule to report on all loan applications processed with no customer present, while a retail loss prevention manager may want to see all incidents where a no sale transaction is followed by the opening of a cash drawer. Users receive a list of all of their customized exceptions along with links to the recorded video so they can quickly scan through each incident and visually verify what occurred. Enhanced transaction pattern detection, which allows users to more precisely define suspect transactions by combining transaction types (e.g., withdrawals, deposits, voids, discounts or refunds) occurring within a set time interval. A retail employee voiding a transaction immediately following a cash transaction, for example, or someone conducting two ATM cash withdrawals below a set threshold within minutes might be committing a crime. This new Searchlight software capability helps investigators identify such theft and fraudulent incidents faster and provides clear video and data evidence to help them prevent recurring incidents from happening. People counting with employee filtering, through an integration with the latest FLIR Brickstream 3D analytic sensor, to provide highly accurate customer traffic data and sales conversion metrics. The feature uses a combination of Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology and employee-worn tags to automatically identify and remove staff from customer counts, a process that can otherwise be manual or missing in today’s retail environments. Personalized reports that enable users to set and save ‘favorite’ dashboards incorporating data from multiple sites. The customized reports are ideal to help aggregate and compare KPIs such as the location with the highest percentage of voids or returns, or the most transactions per day over a defined amount. “These latest Searchlight capabilities make it even easier for our banking and retail customers to uncover, analyze and compare data that’s critical to the success of their business,” said Dan Cremins, Global Product Management Leader, March Networks, “With more than a decade of experience providing integrated video and data solutions to these markets, we’re now focused on expanding the applicability of the data within an organization, while constantly improving the user experience.”

VIDEX GSMPRO With New Features and Functionality

The GSMPRO, which is now expandable to an eight-door access control system, enables people to answer calls to their front door or gate from their mobile phone or landline, so they never have to miss that important visitor and are made aware of who has visited even when they are not there. The system is now available with an integrated back lit coded keypad with up to 400 access codes and 32 temporary codes, which can be programmed to expire after a number of hours to meet all access control needs. Codes can also be programmed via PC software and remotely via SMS, enabling greater flex ibility. A new app is also available for both Android and iOS which simplifies the process of sending SMS messages. The new generation GSMPRO now boasts many more features which make it an ideal access control choice for a greater range of businesses and organisations. For example, it now has free access time bands enabling users to set up to 10 time periods where the entrance is held open, for specific hours of the day and on specific days of the week, which makes it perfect for housing associations, warehouses and offices. It’s also now an eight-door access control system, with the ability to add up to seven extra keypad or proximity access entrances. Additional entrances connect back to the GSMPRO via an RS485 bus using standard CAT5 cable. Many of the new features have been the result of special requests from customers which have been found to be good additions to the system and have allowed the GSM range to be used on installations with complex requirements. A great new feature is that the system now carries a new remote event log that can be accessed online, allowing events to be viewed in real time, on the move via a phone, tablet/ laptop. It’s a great security feature because it’s where a record is kept of calls, gate/ door openings and much more. Revolutionizing Trade-Related Surveillance with SURVEIL-X

NICE Actimize’s next-generation SURVEIL-X solution fundamentally changes surveillance detection to help FSOs detect all forms of risky behavior and better comply with global regulations. Traditional surveillance technology is adept at detecting obvious market abuse, but it doesn’t commonly address the ‘unknowns.’ That’s why regulators around the globe are adopting next generation surveillance technology in growing numbers, and advising financial services organizations (FSOs) to do the same. To meet this demand, NICE Actimize has introduced SURVEIL-X, the industry’s first AI-powered, cloud-native, true holistic trade-related surveillance solution that detects all forms of risky behavior to ensure compliance with key global regulations including MIFID II, Dodd-Frank, Regulation Best Interest and others, while also protecting FSOs from previously undetectable risks that could result in fines and reputational damage. NICE Actimize’s SURVEIL-X revolutionizes surveillance by providing complete surveillance coverage with both AI-powered and traditional expert rule-based analytics, and advanced visualization tools, all on a cloud-native platform that drives down total cost of ownership. Utilizing the latest AI technologies, SURVEIL-X uses a fundamentally different, advanced surveillance methodology, enabling for far greater and more comprehensive risk detection. Taking a situational approach to surveillance, SURVEIL-X intelligently discovers all facets around market manipulation actions, pieces them together without manual intervention and delivers a single alert to compliance for review to increase the probability of finding true risk and delivering clear understanding of the risk discovered. SURVEIL-X offers unparalleled risk coverage for buyand sell-side firms, insurance companies, crypto exchanges, regulators and more, by enabling accurate detection and rapid thorough investigation of market abuse, inappropriate sales practices, conduct risk and otherwise undetectable compliance risks to insulate firms from fines and reputational damage. Chris Wooten, Executive Vice President, NICE stated, “For financial services organizations, surveillance capabilities have become a compliance necessity for detecting known regulatory risks. The only problem is that risk is a moving target, and the things you don’t know or uncover can also hurt your firm. With SURVEIL-X’s complete surveillance coverage, AI-powered analytics and anomaly detection, and its other next-generation surveillance capabilities, FSOs can move out ahead of the curve and insulate themselves from reputational damage and fines.” Complete surveillance coverage Where much of the current surveillance technology is limited by its ability to generate an alert using only one data set (i.e., trades or eCommunications or voice communications), SURVEIL-X looks for connected actions across sources and generates a single alert with all the applicable data for compliance to review. This expands the surveillance detection capabilities far beyond what is typically available today. SURVEIL-X holistic surveillance removes data silos to provide comprehensive surveillance coverage for trade-related regulatory needs. It can connect to, ingest and analyze data from 150+ real-time data sources, including traditional market information, behavioral data derived from analytics, and various communication platforms. By analyzing surveillance data together in one platform, SURVEIL-X is redefining compliance processes to help FSOs cut through the clutter and identify true risks. X-Sight Cloud Platform-as-a-Service As a cloud-native solution powered by X-Sight, SURVEIL-X’s future-proof platform enables FSOs to benefit from faster deployment, reduced infrastructure, operational, training and maintenance costs, hassle free upgrades, seamless scalability, and improved resiliency and security – so they can stay a step ahead of new regulations. FSOs can also take advantage of the X-Sight marketplace, which lowers integration barriers and shortens time-to-use for dozens of integrated third-party solutions. AI-powered analytics Traditional surveillance methods that use lexicon, rules and threshold breaches may work for detecting obvious issues but are limiting. NICE Actimize SURVEIL-X takes detection to a whole new level by leveraging AI-powered analytics including machine learning, anomaly detection, smart classification, advanced speech and behavioral analytics, and Natural Language Understanding to reduce false positives by up to 90 percent. SURVEIL-X’s AI-powered analytics go far beyond looking at single events, formulas and simple thresholds, to analyze and correlate communications, trade and other data sources, so one can identify true risks and understand the intent behind actions taken. With traditional prescriptive detection methods that focus on known risks, regulated employees can easily fly below the radar or change their behavior to avert detection. SURVEIL-X’s anomaly detection uses unsupervised machine learning to bring attention to previously undetectable suspicious behaviors. Centralized case management with story visualization SURVEIL-X’s data-rich, visual alerting capabilities within NICE Actimize’s award-winning ActOne case manager provide a comprehensive graphical representation of any risk that is detected. This may include important details on why an alert was created, leveraging risk factors across communications, trades and more, demonstrating the content and context of the event as well as the conclusion as to why risk is inherent in the alert. All of this is shown within a detailed timeline of events so analysts can receive a detailed understanding of risk, and the full sequence of actions exactly as they happened.

HID Global’s Multispectral Fingerprint Technology Receives Second Perfect Score in Global Fake-Finger Compliance Tests

Asecond member of HID family of Lumidigm® multispectral imaging solutions has achieved a perfect score in the world’s only International Standards Organization (ISO) standard that focuses on anti-spoofing and liveness detection. The company’s latest certification to the ISO/ IEC 30107-3 presentation attack detection (PAD) standard to level 1 further validates HID Global Lumidigm sensors’ ability to authenticate only a real, living person and not a plastic fake or other artificial copy, helping eliminate fraud. “HID’s proven V-series multispectral technology was the first fingerprint product to receive a perfect score in the most stringent certification test in the world, and now we have extended that certification to our M-series devices,” said Michael Chaudoin, Vice President of Product Marketing, Extended Access Technologies Business Area with HID Global, “This is the most important certification for those needing independent validation that their biometric solution meets a very specific set of liveness detection standards with the lowest tolerance for failures.” Now compliant to the ISO/ IEC 30107-3 level 1 standard, HID Global’s Lumidigm M-series sensors join the company’s V-series sensors to give users the confidence of standards validated spoof protection for a broad range of biometric authentication applications. The flagship Lumidigm V-series sensors were the first in the industry to be compliant to the rigid ISO PAD standard. The sensors have been proven in large scale banking applications such as ATM deployments and employee network access, that depend on data encryption and tamper resistance capabilities to protect sensitive data and cryptography keys, which helps eliminate fraud. The M-series sensors provide a risk-appropriate option for time-and-attendance, single sign on, physical access control and other applications that don’t require the V-series sensors’ full range of advanced features, but still benefit from strong liveness protection. In addition to delivering NIST-compliant liveness detection, the Lumidigm sensors’ multispectral imaging technology provides the most reliable capture performance available in harsh real world environmental conditions, and when fingers are wet, dry or damaged. Both sensors detected 100 percent of spoof attempts while correctly authenticating all legitimate users in tests administered by iBeta Quality Assurance, and certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). Each of the Lumidigm sensors use the company’s patented multi-spectral fingerprint imaging technology to capture unique characteristics from the surface and subsurface of the finger that are analyzed to confirm it is legitimate and from a live person. HID Global’s Lumidigm sensors are part of the company’s expanding biometrics portfolio that addresses a broad range of authentication use cases and vertical markets. Additional biometrics offerings include: HID® Digital Persona® optical fingerprint readers designed for point-of-sale, retail and desktop applications as well as for users requiring certification to FIPS 201/PIV and FBI Mobile ID FAP 30 standards.
