Rajasthan Government Uses Delta Outdoor LED Displays for Public Content Delivery

Delta, a global provider of video wall solutions, has been chosen by RajCOMP Info Services Ltd. (RISL), a Government of Rajasthan Undertaking, for providing a networked solution of LED outdoor displays. The 44 full colour and full motion LED display boards, each measuring 3.84m wide and 2.88m tall, are now installed at various locations in Rajasthan, and were built using Delta’s cutting-edge outdoor LED technology. This is a first of its kind network in India where a state government has taken the initiative to take its programs and policies to the common man. This helps the public better understand the various schemes which the government has floated and how they can take part. The displays encourage the public to take maximum benefit from various government initiatives. The outdoor displays also help in broadcasting live information or telecasting government events live. “Large format electronic displays are an effective way to provide useful information to the masses, for example, broadcasting new government schemes and their benefits or streaming the live feed of an important event,” expressed a senior RISL official, “This vision was first reflected in Rajasthan State’s budget announcement (FY 2016-17), and subsequently LED Video walls were commissioned throughout the state.” Delta’s 10mm SMD LED display provides high brightness, high contrast ratio and wide viewing angles for clarity and easy readability. With a contrast ratio of over 4000:1, and a light output of over 6000nits, the LED delivers bestin-class image quality in an outdoor environment. “With Delta’s extensive experience in image and video processing, the LED display provides the ultimate image quality assurance, colour uniformity and cost of ownership. The clarity and distance visibility of Delta’s outdoor LED displays make it an ideal solution for displaying public information,” said Hemant Agarwal, Head of Display Solutions Business Unit, Delta Electronics, India. The displays can be addressed as single display, groups of displays or a single large group, and are capable of showing bright images even during peak daylight, running non-stop during summer, monsoon and winter months. They are IP65 rated, which means that they are protected from the vagaries of nature. Different kinds of content like videos, text, images, RSS feeds, web pages, and others can be displayed and played depending on a schedule that can be set in a device. In addition to this, streaming of live events, along with its audio can help get the message to the public. Delta executed this project with its partner Pan Intellecom Ltd. Harbir Singh, Director, Pan Intellecom Ltd. said, “In today’s digital era, it is more reasonable to install an LED display for a big impact. Delta having expertise in display solutions provided RISL with an innovative LED solution that met their expectations.” RajCOMP Info Services Ltd. FICCI Road Safety 2018

Be Alert on Road: Role of Corporates FICCI has recently organized a seminar on ‘Road safety: The Role of Corporates’ in association with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, where Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, described road safety as a national security issue as the death toll due to road accidents is much higher than that caused by the terrorist attacks. She advised that the corporates need to come forward in a big way in generating sensitivity and awareness on the emotional and physical trauma caused to the next kin of those killed in road accidents, and they should steer clear of siding with those who seek less stringent norms for road safety violations. She stressed the need for innovation in the manufacturing of safety devices and urged manufacturers to adhere to quality specifications. Corporates could also spend increasing amounts from their CSR kitty on distributing rear vehicle body reflectors to people who cannot afford to purchase them. She alluded to the use of lithium in battery-operated vehicles and said that there was a need to minimise the dependence on imported lithium by switching to other environment-friendly fuels. Abhay Damle, Joint Secretary (Transport), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that safety begins at home and corporates need to ensure that their employees, workforce and visitors to company premises abide by road safety measures. Employees need to be trained about improving their life skills and adhering to safer road safety norms. He said that a basic SOP needs to be drawn by every member of FICCI and those not adhering to the specified norms on vehicle fitness, license of truck, reflective strips on vehicle, among others should be penalized. Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Jammu & Kashmir suggested that overspeeding and overloading are two of the prominent reasons for road accidents. “We are working towards improving the roads and increasing public transport in J&K to address these issues. We are also working towards improving the design of roads. In order to train the users and drivers, we have set up a Road Safety Committee, and also created safety clubs in schools and included lessons on road safety in school curricula,” he said. Rahul Chaudhary, Chairman, FICCI  Homeland Security Committee, and Principal and CMD, GTM Consulting Pvt. Ltd. said that the FICCI Homeland Security Division was actively working with various law enforcement agencies to promote the use of the latest technologies which could be deployed for traffic management and road safety such as echallans and body worn cameras.   Ms. Lekhi gave away the FICCI Road Safety Awards 2018 to six corporates which are championing the cause of road safety.
