Interest in COLDSTORE TRINITY™ is predicted to increase even further following the news that it is now fully supported by Smart Security Manager (SSM), Hanwha Techwin’s one-stop video management solution. COLDSTORE TRINITY™ has been specifically engineered for banks, casinos, petrol stations, prisons and other similar environments where there is a need for a scalable, highly-reliable recording system with low total cost of ownership. The wide variety of orders received include providing a COLDSTORE TRINITY™ solution for a major component supplier to the high-end car manufacturing sector, a UK transport authority and a casino group in the Czech Republic. With all the projects requiring a large number of high definition Wisenet cameras, COLDSTORE TRINITY™ is offering an easy to install solution with greatly reduced deployment costs compared to a conventional RAID-based system. Total cost of ownership is minimised by COLDSTORE TRINITY™’s ultra low power consumption requirements. With a COLDSTORE array of up to 120TB consuming just 60 watts, there is a potential 90% power saving compared to standard server based storage solutions. There are also low ongoing maintenance costs, with extended disk lifetime, even when using the lowest cost disks available. Users are able to take advantage of a robust and scalable system which does not require a server or network recording device and yet supports audio and metadata as well as video, whilst offering innovative features such as camera-level fail-over and resilience to network interruptions. As a result, large savings are achieved on software licences and NVR hardware costs normally incurred when an IP network based recording system is required. Working In simple terms, Wisenet cameras, supported by the TRINITY™ direct-to-storage architecture, are able to perform the functions of an NVR. Designed for reliability and data security with fail-over at camera level, TRINITY™ empowers Wisenet cameras to write directly to COLDSTORE, which incorporates Veracity’s Linear Array of Idle Disks (L.A.I.D™) technology. When combined with the unique Sequential disk Filing System (S.F.S™), COLDSTORE provides generous storage capacity at a low cost. Instant access to video COLDSTORE provides an easy way to instantly retrieve video evidence and yet is resilient to disk failure and requires no disk rebuild process. Disks are used sequentially, with all the disks not in use being switched off, saving power and thus greatly reducing temperature, vibration and wear. The system uses a unique mirrored overlapping-pair writing pattern to provide full data redundancy during the critical writing process. This delivers the redundancy of RAID1 on write, but unlike RAID1, does not require double the number of disks. Smart Security Manager (SSM) SSM is a one-stop management software solution which maximises the efficiency of Wisenet network cameras and ensures they are perfectly integrated with COLDSTORE and other third party systems such as intruder alarms and access control. Smart Security Manager’s modular architecture empowers operators to configure, manage and monitor large numbers of cameras. It is equipped with a powerful search engine and offers a wide range of options to assist operators to quickly and easily retrieve evidential data. A Video Summary feature condenses hours of recorded video into a series of shortened clips, with events overlaid and time-stamped. Selecting any of these events replays the relevant video clip in its entirety. Searches can be further refined by using criteria such as colour, object size and direction of movement. Failover redundancy controls and automatic network-fail recovery ensures that Smart Security Manager operates reliably at all times.

OPTEX has extended its range of SmartLine active infrared beams with the SL-TNR series wireless and hybrid, entry-level outdoor active beam for simple point-to-point applications. The SL-TNR series includes two models: a 30-meter SL-100TNR, and 60m SL-200TNR outdoor battery-powered active beam that is ideally suited to protect small perimeters, open areas and driveways. The sensor has been designed to work with both D-sized lithium batteries as well as the universal CR123 batteries, when using optional battery-holders (CRH-5), which are all included in the SL-TNR-CH package. Four D-sized batteries fitted within the receiver and transmitter will provide up to five years’ operation; 16 universal batteries will last up to one year. The SL-TNR photobeam includes a hybrid option of a PCU-5 power converter, so the receiver can be hardwired and the transmitter battery-powered. It is ideal for situations when the receiver beam is on a building wall close to a main power source and the transmitter is too far from it. SL-TNR beam sensors also feature a back box that can accommodate most of the available wireless radio transmitters on the market, making it extremely easy to add a wireless perimeter alarm to an existing indoor wireless system. The optional use of a BCU-5 allows for the battery power to be shared between the beams and the wireless transmitter. The SL-100 TNR utilises high-grade aspherical lenses and also has an anti-frost design with IP65 weather protection to improve its durability during tougher weather conditions. Indoor models with more performance now also available Higher performance and greater flexibility for indoors MOBOTIX has introduced the new indoor models c26, i26, p26 and v26, thereby completing the successful Mx6 6MP camera line. The new, higher performing processor delivers up to twice as many images per second as before – at the same resolution. The video data is simultaneously offered in three formats – MxPEG, MJPEG and H.264 – as well as in a range of different resolutions. RTSP/ multicast makes the Mx6 cameras more flexible. All of the models come standard with intelligent motion detection directly on the camera, and thereby offer more capacity for additional software applications. More power, easily integrated As with the Mx6 outdoor cameras, now Mx6 indoor models are also available with a more powerful CPU as well as an H.264 encoder. The new processor architecture significantly increases the frame rate, which allows the cameras to do an even better job of capturing fast movements. Moreover, intelligent motion detection is integrated as a standard, and more capacity is available on the camera for additional software applications. The new Mx6 camera system is far more flexible and higher performing, thanks to RTSP/ Multicast. The video stream can be displayed on multiple clients simultaneously without reducing the frame rate. Alongside the MxPEG video codec, which was specially developed for security applications, H.264 is available for the first time, ensuring compatibility with the industry standard. Depending on requirements, the focus can be set on high image quality with MxPEG, or the industry standard for video transmission and camera integration can be used. Moreover, Mx6 cameras also offer basic functions in keeping with ONVIF, a global open interface standard. In this way, the new camera system opens up far more application and integration options for their partners and end customers. Regular software updates ensure that the performance of the Mx6 range continually improves, which in turn guarantees a maximum return on investment. “We will continue to remain true to our decentralized concept – storing maximum intelligence in a camera – and thereby offer solutions that go above and beyond traditional applications. Flexibly protect interior spaces With a diameter of only 12 centimeters and a weight of approximately 200 grams, the c26 is the smallest and lightest MOBOTIX 360° camera yet for fast ceiling mounting in suspended ceilings. The i26 is ideally suited for corresponding wall mounting, as it is just as compact and discreet. Thanks to its tilt angle of 15°, it provides a complete overview of the room and can thereby replace up to four conventional cameras. The p26 provides maximum flexibility during installation thanks to its manual swivel and tilt functions, and can also completely secure an entire room when it is installed in a corner area, thanks to its 90° lens. The v26 is the first vandalism indoor camera to also offer all MOBOTIX functions. Alongside the standard lenses, an on-wall audio set and suitable vandalism sets are available for optimum protection.
