India Enabling Business of Future

As per a 2022 report by Mckinsey & Company –India is poised to become a powerful economic growth engine. It has one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, the third-largest start-up ecosystem, and the tech services, digital and manufacturing sectors on track to become a global powerhouse. It is not only glittering with business growth but also emerging as the destination that can produce businesses of the future and has already proven that it can handle businesses of the world.

To witness the changes and understand the situation better, a unique and exclusive business event, ‘India enabling the business of future’ was organized by IIRIS Consulting Pvt. Ltd. and Veracity on 27 April 2023 at Le Meridien, New Delhi that brought together experienced international leaders and unsung heroes from the police and law industry in India.

It showcased some of the challenges faced by businesses in India when it comes to security and compliance. The speakers discussed the need for businesses to work closely with law enforcement agencies and adopt best practices to ensure the security of their operations.

Various high-profile lawyers, members of Competition Commission of India, Government Officials, Business Leaders, and Security Professionals in India attended the symposium. The purpose of the symposium was to discuss the latest changes and initiatives in laws and compliances to encourage and support business in India.

P.K Malhotra (former Law Secretary of India and Board Member – Public Police NGO) gave the keynote address. He provided insight on legislation that enables and creates a path for business growth.

A thought-provoking session on various business concerns in India and its global challenges was discussed in an interesting fire side chat between Dr. Vikram Singh (Former DGP – UP & Chancellor – NIU) and Steve Swain (Former London Metropolitan Police), the two global police officers from India and U.K. They emphasised on the challenges, reform and use of technology in police force to help businesses function smoothly in both countries.

The event had its last session intended to focus on the work and importance of Competition Commission of India. This was chaired by Dr. Sanjay Pandey (Advocacy Division – CCI) and Vaibhav Gaggar (Counsel –Supreme Court of India).

Impact: The event provided valuable insights into the complex interplay among business management, security, risk assessment, and compliance in India. It showcased the potential of India to become a global leader in these areas and provided practical advice for businesses looking to succeed in this dynamic and rapidly evolving market. It increased awareness of business-related laws and how to function smoothly in the country.

A post-event cocktail and dinner were organised by the hosts for open discussion and networking opportunities among attendees.
